Ukrainian drilling expertise is driving the industry forward despite today’s challenging realities

Specialists from the Drilling Company «Goryzonty» LLC paid a working visit to the production facilities of one of the divisions of SLB, a global leader in oil and gas services, namely the SLB Berra Technology Center (Piacentina, Italy), which specializes in the manufacture and maintenance of equipment for drilling fluid cleaning and degassing systems, drilling fluid circulation systems, and the production of shaker screens for most types of vibrating screens.

The visit aimed to inspect and test equipment planned for delivery to meet the needs of the Drilling Company «Goryzonty». This visit is part of a systematic effort to advance technological development, modernize operations, and improve the efficiency of drilling operations.

During the visit, Volodymyr Machyshyn, head of the drilling fluids department, Mykhailo Shchurik, Chief Mechanic, and Volodymyr Hrynda, Procurement Manager, explored the latest technologies and industry trends aimed at improving the removal of cuttings from drilling fluid during well drilling and minimizing drilling waste when using water-based mud (WBM) and oil-based mud (OBM).

It should be noted that the environmental pillar of ESG is an important element of SLB’s operations, particularly in implementing technological solutions aimed at minimizing the environmental impact during well drilling. Particular attention is paid to improving the efficiency of drilling fluid treatment and reuse, reducing drilling waste generation, ensuring the rational use of natural resources, and minimizing the environmental risks associated with production processes. The use of modern drilling fluid treatment and degassing systems helps reduce risks and optimize material usage, decrease the need for replacements, and improve the environmental efficiency of drilling operations. For the Drilling Company «Goryzonty», adopting these technologies is an important step towards becoming an ESG-oriented player in the market.
