We maintain a professional dialogue with educational institutions

On 22 October 2026, a lecture on «Drilling Fluids» was held at the Lviv Regional Council’s municipal institution, the «Drohobych Vocational College of Oil and Gas», for third-year students studying the following specialisations: 185 «Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology», 103 «Earth Sciences» and 161 «Chemical Technology and Engineering».

The lecture was delivered by Oleg Zalishchuk, a senior engineer in the drilling fluids department at «Drilling Company «Horyzonty» LLC and a graduate of the college.

During the session, the specialist familiarised the students with the purpose and main functions of drilling fluids, their classification, physico-chemical properties and specific applications during well drilling.

Particular attention was paid to the control of drilling fluid process parameters, methods for analysing them in accordance with API standards, the operation of field laboratories and modern equipment for drilling fluid treatment.

Drawing on his own professional experience, the lecturer spoke about the specific aspects of a drilling fluid engineer’s role, their main tasks and their responsibility for ensuring the stability and safety of the drilling process.

For future drilling specialists, the session provided an opportunity to deepen their professional knowledge, familiarise themselves with modern production technologies and gain a better understanding of the importance of high-quality preparation and control of drilling fluids.

The students also had the chance to see the practical application of knowledge from chemical disciplines in technical.
